Junior Academy

The Cartersville Country Club Junior Academy is run by Director of Instruction Bill Hassell, PGA and Head Golf Professional Zac Tilton, PGA. The Junior Academy has a clear path for your junior golfer to improve their golf game as far as they would like. From beginning golfers who have never picked up a club to advanced tournament golfers, our programs are built to improve every juniors golf game. We run our junior programs in 3 seasons; the Spring Season runs March to May, the Summer Season runs June to July, and the Fall Season August to November. So, no matter the time of year, your junior can be improving their game. Below is a brief description of each of our Junior Programs that we offer. For 7-13 year olds, our spring supervised practice has been divided into two categories:
  • Beginner-This means either just getting started with golf or practices/plays no more than one time a week outside of practice/lessons.
  • Intermediate/Advanced-Plays & practices at least twice a week outside of practice and is currently or plans to play more than a few junior tournaments this summer.
  • Once a junior is 14 & older, we suggest more individual & small group instruction which we tailor to each junior’s level.
This program runs from Tuesday, March 10th thru Tuesday, May 5th (no practice Tuesday, April 7th due to Spring Break).  Cost is $160 for Members and $185 for Non Members.  Start time is 4:30 P.M.


The Scratch League is designed for Juniors looking to hone their skills out on the golf course.  The premise behind the league is to teach players how to shoot 36 or better for 9 holes.  Players start 25 yards from the green and once shooting 36 or better they move back to 50 yards (Then 100, 150, 200, 250, Red Tees, Gold Tees, White Tees, Blue Tees & Black Tees).  Juniors receive a sticker or "flag" after they complete each tee.  

League runs from Thursday, March 12th thru Thursday, May 7th.  Cost is $160 for Members and $185 for Non Members.  Start time is 5:00 P.M.


This program is setup for the two different levels of 7-13 year olds.  Juniors will be divided up within their groups as well.  This program starts Tuesday, June 16th and runs thru Tuesday, July 28th, time is at 8:30 A.M.

This program is designed for those Juniors just getting into golf or those who need assistance with the fundamentals of the game.  

Cost is $160 for Members and $185 for Non Members.




We will be having our own PGA Junior League this summer. For those who have not participated in Junior League before, this is a two-player scramble format that mirrors other team sports like Little League Baseball to create a fun environment for juniors.  Each junior receives a jersey, hat and starter kit.  The plan is to have 2-4 teams within the club, and this will allow us to set up matches for same ability levels and eliminate travel. We encourage all juniors 7-13 to participate in Junior League this summer.  Cost is $200 for the League for CCC Members and $250 for invited non-members.  Registration/payment information and instructions will be emailed out early next week. Non-members will need to pay the additional $50 in the CCC golf shop.  All matches will be at CCC and the tentative schedule is below.

All junior golfers ages 7-13 who are members of the club or who have been invited by a member may participate in this event. This is a great opportunity for your junior to continue improving at a game they enjoy or a great introduction to the game as well.  The cost for this Summer Camp is $125 for members & $150

for non-members.  That includes 3-days of instruction, a Tee Gift, and lunch each day. If you have any questions or wish to sign your Junior up for this event, please contact zac@cartersvillecountryclub.com.
  • Summer Camp #1 (Wednesday-Friday): June 3rd - 5th (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)
  • Summer Camp #2 (Wednesday-Friday): July 15th - 17th (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)
Registration will begin @ 8:30 am on the Wednesday of each camp outside in front of the golf shop.  Juniors should be dropped off each day in front of the clubhouse and picked up by the scoreboard area (if you do not know where that is, we can show you upon arrival on Day 1). 

We will have two Golf/Tennis camps this summer.  The dates for these will be June 18th – 21st and July 23rd-26th.   Cost for these camps will be $300 for members and $350 for non-members.  These camps will be structured as follows: Ages 6-10 and ages 11-14.  Ages 6-10 will start with golf from 9:00 am – 10:30 am with ages 11-14 doing tennis during the same time frame.  From 10:45 am – 12:00 pm the ages will switch Golf and Tennis.  From 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm lunch will be served and from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm all ages will go to the pool.
The Junior Club Championship will be Tuesday and Wednesday, June 18th and 19th for ages 15 and up (OPEN DIVISION).  Sunday, July 21st CCC will hold the Junior Club Championship for ages 14 and under.  The tee will be reserved for the Junior Club Championship from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 18th and 19th. The Junior Club Championship is funded by our Men's Golf Association so there is no cost associated.  One walking caddy per player is allowed and spectator carts will be welcomed, but carts must stay on the cart path. NO caddies allowed for the OPEN DIVISION.  Parents are encouraged to caddy for 11 and under.  Awards will be given to 1st-3rd place only within each division.  Tentative tee times are listed below.  Please email Zac@cartersvillecountryclub.com to sign-up or if you have questions.

  • 8-9 Year Olds (5-Holes) 250 Yards or Less: Sunday Only, Tee Times starting @ 2:30 pm
  • 10-11 Year Olds (9-Holes) 400 Yards or Less: Sunday Only, Tee Times starting @ 2:00 pm
  • 12-14 Year Olds (9-Holes) Gold Tees: Sunday Only, Tee Times starting @ 1:30 pm
  • 12-14 Year Olds (18 Holes) White Tees: Sunday Tee Times starting @ 1:00 pm
